Holiday Fun

It’s beginning to look at lot like Christmas around Wolf Creek!  Wranglers have celebrated this fun season in a variety of ways!

The best way to celebrate this season is by showing kindness to others. Our Student Council representatives gave of their time to ring bells for the Salvation Army.  Over fifteen students smiled, rang bells, and watched the coins drop in to the red kettle! Community service students created blankets for The Linus Project.  This is a non-profit organization that provides blankets for children in hospitals, shelters, social service agencies, or anywhere else a child needs some support and encouragement.  Our fourth grade students joined together to bring all of us some holiday cheer by caroling around the building. It was fun to hear them and join in on the singing! Wolf Creek students really know how to show kindness to others, especially during this time of year!

Another great way to celebrate this season is by spending time with the people we love.  Earlier in the week, our kindergarten and fifth grade buddy classes teamed up to create gingerbread houses together.  It’s always fun to see our older students being great role models for the younger kids as they work to design the best possible candy and frosting-laden houses!  And of course, to nibble a few bites here and there!

The final way to celebrate the season is with a party!  Our winter party morning kicked off with first graders decorating cookies in the cafeteria.  It was like Santa’s bakery with sugar and sprinkles for all! Next, the Wrangler Choir treated us all to some holiday songs and favorite carols.  The choir practices every Monday afterschool to prepare for these fantastic performances.

The fun continued with special guests Dr. Burke and the SHHS Varsity Boys Basketball team reading stories to some students.  Classes had the opportunity to create craft projects, play games, watch movies, and eat yummy snacks.  Students worked together to complete team building and STEM challenges.  Some classes followed a certain theme like Polar Express, Grinch, or Penguins.  Wherever you looked, students and staff were having fun and celebrating this holiday season.

Happy Holidays from all of us at Wolf Creek!
