SOARING Into Learning With Mrs. Schmitendorf

We would love for you to have the opportunity to meet one of our new staff members.  Kacey Schmitendorf is part of our third grade team.

Mrs. Schmitendorf grew up a little all over the place, but graduated from Gardner in 2010. She then went to Emporia State where she graduated in 2014. Mrs. Schmitendorf joins the Wolf Creek staff with six years of teaching experience. She has taught third, fifth, and sixth grades in Arizona, Emporia, and Kansas City, KS. She has also worked at a daycare working with the pre-K kiddos to get them ready for Kindergarten. When asked about her position at Wolf Creek, Kacey shares, “I am loving the kids and families that I have to work with. The culture of the building is so positive and everyone has been so welcoming! I love 3rd grade because of the content that is covered. It is great to introduce new concepts and skills to kids!” When not working at school, Mrs. Schmitendorf enjoys spending time with her son Ian and looking forward to the arrival of their baby girl in January! Her and her husband enjoy going to the movies. She also likes to read and catch a Royals, Chiefs, or Jayhawk game. She is a former softball and volleyball player (and coach!) and still follows these sports.

We are glad to welcome Mrs. Schmitendorf to the WCES family!
