Melanie Montanez - 5th Grade

Hello my name is...

Melanie Montanez

I'm so excited to be a part of Wolf Creek Elementary School! This is my first year here at Wolf Creek and will be my nineteenth year of my teaching career! I have taught second, third, and fourth grades. This will be my first year teaching fifth grade! I was born and raised in Sykesville, Maryland. I attended Towson University and earned my bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master's degree in instructional technology. After I graduated from the elementary education program I started teaching in the same school district where I went as a kid, in Howard County, Maryland. During this time I taught at the same school for 18 years. My husband's name is Miguel and we have a daughter, Mia who is in kindergarten! She is so much fun and a great entertainer, I'm sure you will hear tons of stories this year! You will soon realize I love animals and have a dog, Molly and two guinea pigs, Minnie and Maggie. My family and I love to spend time together playing games, going to the movies, arcades, and building legos! I know we will have a great year filled with fun, laughter, hard work, and many accomplishments! I’m looking forward to create a supportive classroom community, where everyone feels safe and happy!
