Occupational and Physical Therapy

Welcome to Occupational And Physical Therapy!

Hello,

My name is Terri Newkirk and I am the Physical Therapist at Wolf Creek, Timber Sage, Dayton Creek, and Spring Hill Elementary Schools, as well as Woodland Springs and Spring Hill Middle Schools. I am so excited to be here at Wolf Creek Elementary with the wonderful students and staff members!

I grew up in Parkville, Missouri, and went to Central Missouri State University where I received a BS in Business Administration and Marketing. After working a few years I decided that was not for me, and went back to school. I got my Masters in Physical Therapy from KU Medical Center in 1997 and have loved being a PT ever since! I started working in the Spring Hill School District in 2018. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband Darren, and my three kids, Alex, 27, Marissa, 19 and Zach, 16.

In the school setting, physical therapy addresses a variety of skills necessary for optimal participation in the classroom and school routines. Interventions may focus on general mobility, balance, coordination, motor planning, or body awareness/proprioception skills. Therapy services are generally provided outside the classroom in a separate setting, once or twice a week for approximately 15 minutes.

Feel free to contact me at any time with questions you may have at [email protected]. I look forward to speaking and/or meeting with you throughout the school year!

Regards,

Terri Newkirk, PT
