Honoring All Who Serve - WCES Veterans’ Day

WCES has always had a strong tradition of honoring the men and women of our country who are committed to serving in the various branches of the United States Military. This is an important event for our entire school community, and something we really look forward to. This year may have looked a little different, but was a great time of honoring important people in our community.

Our WCES community gathered outside to welcome Veterans as they drove through our parade route. Dressed in red, white, and blue; students showed their appreciation to our veterans with posters, cards, smiles and cheers. Over 20 cars traveled through the parade led by our school SRO officer.

In past years, the WCES choir performed on this day. This year, they performed ahead of time and were recorded on a special video. The video also included pictures of students holding a star that represented a special Veteran, posters that were made for the parade, and the playing of the different branch anthems.

This was truly a special day for our WCES family and all of our Veterans that we are so very grateful for!  Thanks to our Veterans Day Committee for continuing this important tradition and thinking creatively to accomplish this event in a unique way.
