Community Service Club Makes Birthday Boxes

Members of Wolf Creek’s Community Service Club learned just how important it is to celebrate birthdays.

The Wolf Creek Community Service Club is made up of third through fifth graders. They meet after school four times throughout the school year. The purpose of the club is to create projects that will help and encourage others in our community. From making cards and bringing cheer, to collecting items for those in need in Spring Hill, the club works together to learn how to serve others.

Recently, students spent time creating birthday boxes. What is a birthday box? Well, it is a box filled with a birthday cake mix, can of frosting, candles, birthday hat, and birthday sign. These will be given to the Spring Hill Food Pantry so they can hand them out to recipients on their birthday. Everyone deserves a little something special on their birthday, and that’s exactly what the Community Service club kids set out to do. They assembled the boxes, decorated them, created the signs, and designed the birthday hats. The group completed 20 boxes in November and plans to do the same in February.

Thanks to our Community Service kids for making birthdays special for people in our community.
