SOARING into Learning with Birds of Prey

Fourth Grade students had an awesome opportunity to soar in their learning as they studied birds of prey with some help from presenters from Ernie Miller Nature Center.

Fourth grade students study animal adaptations in their science curriculum. Well, that learning really came to life when presenters from Ernie Miller Nature Center brought real birds to Wolf Creek! Students learned about the birds’ beaks, talons, and wings and how each of these adaptations help them survive in the wild. They also learned about how birds use their senses and how those senses are different from ours. The best part of the program was seeing some real birds up close!

Thanks to Ernie Miller for coming and helping our fourth grade students soar in their learning. We are grateful for these real-life experiences!
