When Should Your Child Stay Home From School?

Wolf Creek Elementary follows the exclusion recommendations set forth by the Johnson County Health Department. Please see "Exclusion Recommendations" under the Health Resources page for other conditions not listed below. Please follow these guidelines:

Your child must be excluded from school if he/she has a fever of 100 degrees or higher. Your child may return to school when he/she has been fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever–reducing medications.

Your child must be free of vomiting, diarrhea, and purulent eye drainage for 24 hours before returning to school.

Your child should remain home for 24 hours after starting an antibiotic therapy.

If your child is diagnosed with Influenza A or B they are required to be excluded from school for 7 days following onset of illness or duration of illness if child is immune-compromised.

If your child is diagnosed with COVID 19, they are required to be home for 10 days from the positive test result and 24 hours fever free - whichever is longer.

Spring Hill USD 230 strongly recommends following JCDHE quarantine protocols, which may be found on pages 7 & 8 of the following linked document: https://jocogov.org/sites/default/files/documents/DHE/PBH/jcdhe_school_guidance_8.12.21.pdf
